Our Nation's Christmas Tree

In 1956 President Eisenhower dedicated the General Grant tree in Sequoia National Park as Our Nation's Christmas Tree. The General Grant tree has the destinction of being our only living national shrine. It was dedicated to those who have died serving their country. The annual ceremony takes place the second Sunday in December.(NPS Photo)
