Recreation.gov Replaces ReserveUSA

Tuesday February 6, 2007
The National Recreation Reservation Service (NRRS) announced yesterday that www.Recreation.gov will be taking Federal land campsite reservations effective 10:00a.m. EST on February 7. At that time, the current NRRS Web site at www.reserveUSA.com will automatically redirect to the new reservation Web site. New National Park Service facilities and activities are also being added to the reservation system. Other enhancements include an improved reservation search, shopping cart functionality for making multiple reservations with one payment, and improved campground maps. To protect your privacy, the NRRS will require customers of www.reserveUSA.com to create new accounts at www.Recreation.gov.

Always seem to have problems with reservations. Today, needed instructions and the site was down. Can’t call and speak to someone directly who understands. For and the extra $$$ tacked on, the service is only worth a few cents.

This sucks. I used to get my reservations in a matter of minutes. I have been trying for an hour and still can’t get one. Leave it to our
wonderful government to screw things up. No wonder this country is so screwed up.
