How far did you travel?

Friday March 7, 2008
Every September I head to Ocracoke Island, which is on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It's about 700 miles from home. The campground is located just over the sand dunes from the beach, which is the main attraction, and they make the long trip more than worthwhile.

On your last camping trip, how far did you travel to get to the campground?
1.) less than 20 miles
2.) 20 - 49 miles
3.) 50 - 99 miles
4.) 100 - 200 miles
5.) more than 200 miles

Last weekend we headed about 275 miles southwest in search of warmer weather. We stayed at Onondaga Caves State Park in Missouri where it reached a freakish 82 degrees. Compared to the cold windy 30’s in Chicago, it felt like heaven.

Last year, we drove 500 miles to camp at the Bay of Fundy National Park in N.B. We used this as a home base to visit family members around N.B. A beautiful area, and a great park.
