How will the price of gas affect your camping trips?

Friday May 2, 2008
They say that when the economy suffers so does the travel industry. Many folks are planning to spend their vacations at home this year. I'd hate to own an RV with today's gas prices. In fact, I'd probably sell it and buy a tent.

RVers poll:
How will the price of gas affect your RV trips?
1.) I may park my RV for good
2.) I will be RVing closer to home
3.) I won’t be RVing as often
4.) I will continue RVing as usual

Actually my RV is at home at a seasonal CG. So gas prices wont affect my camping too much.

We will be camping closer to home this year. 75 miles or less per trip. Camping anywhere is better than no camping at all.

We’re planning to economize on gas by setting up base camp on the Big Island. The Volcanoes National Park offers some of the best hiking in the world. We are excited to see the lava flow. Friends highly recommended the book Hawaii The Big Island Trailblazer and from it we have planned an awesome itinerary.

We just finished a year long trip around the US. The gas prices put a dent in our savings. I would do it again. But it was not what we had originally budgeted.
