Find Gas Prices

Monday May 26, 2008
With the price of gas these days, it might be worth your while to go on to the next exit before you fill up. I was playing around with MapQuest's Gas Price maps to see who was selling the cheapest gas in my area. It's real easy to use. Just put in an intersection, address or zip code, and you get a map of gas prices at all the stations in the vicinity of that address. Surprisingly, the prices seem to be quite current. Even more surprisingly, if I traveled around the corner from my usual gas station, the gas was selling there for 10 cents cheaper per gallon. On a long trip this can add up. MapQuest is accessible by handhelds, so you (preferably the passenger) could check for the cheapest gas prices while traveling down the road. Want to save a little on gas costs?

I checked out the Map Quest Gas Prices site and was diappointed to discover it excluded constantly lower prices from stations like Arco and Costco.
