What Is Camping To You?

Friday April 10, 2009
Camping means different things to different people. Backpackers might consider it an adventure. A boy scout may see it as a hobby. Kids consider it a recreation. While parents view it as an escape, and RVers consider it a lifestyle. What aspect of your life does camping satisfy? Fill in the blank.

Ummm…how about all of the above? Cheap or free place to sleep, solitude, fresh air, sleeping under the stars. Recreation can be education, too.

Camping has such a different meaning to me!
No tents, no sleeping under the stars, no chance of wild animals gettin’ you!
I ‘camp’ in a 39′ 5th wheel with all the comforts of home, flat screen tv,king bed microwave,washer/dryer,fireplace, computer.
My families biggest problem with camping is deciding which resturant to eat at!
Thats my kind of camping LOL LOL

I see that I am of a like mind with seeral other. Camping has never been just one of these things for me. It has always been ALL of them. I go every chance I get — even in the winter time. Solitude, relaxation, recreation, Oneness with nature, getting away form the maddening crowd are all part of camping for me. Also, I’ve always combined outdoor survival skills (fishing, wild edibles, cooking over an open fire, solar cooking) and exercise/sport (hiking, geocaching, orienteering) with my camping. Also I can ride my bike to some my favorite camping places that are closer to me.
