How Far Did You Travel?

Every September I head to Ocracoke Island, which is on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It's about 700 miles from home. The campground is located just over the sand dunes from the beach, which is the main attraction, and they make the long trip more than worthwhile.

My first campout was actualy in a farm in a village in Greece. Was with my cousin we slept up in a mountain pasture watching the sheep. al we had was a few burlap bags to lay on the ground and a blanket to cover us i’ll never forget it being I was a city boy from chicago.
Last weekend we headed about 275 miles southwest in search of warmer weather. We stayed at Onondaga Caves State Park in Missouri where it reached a freakish 82 degrees. Compared to the cold windy 30’s in Chicago, it felt like heaven.
Last year, we drove 500 miles to camp at the Bay of Fundy National Park in N.B. We used this as a home base to visit family members around N.B. A beautiful area, and a great park.
this last weekend my three nephews, a friend and myself went to bomoseen state park. we had a leanto overlooking the lake. its very close to my home. its a very nice campground.m
