Daryl sent in this story: We just couldn't Bear it.
"We attempted to go camping in a southwestern forest in New Mexico doing some primitive camping. When we arrived at our planned destination, we found the forest was closed due to fire restrictions."
I remembered that there was a secluded campground about 50 miles away. In all of the years camping in that area, I never found the campground occupied. We made our trek over to the campground. There we encountered a Forest Ranger and talked with him. We had the full run of the campground since the forests in the surrounding areas were closed down. During the night we heard some noises off in the distance, but we were not concerned about it. The next morning when we awoke, we found a group of brown bears sniffing our tent. What a way to wake up. We quickly tossed everything into the truck and got out of there.

I believe that if the forest service quit doing all of these so called “Controlled burns” that there wouldn’t be as much fire hazard. The reason I am saying that is that when they are done doing the burns, they never clean up the left over slash, leaving a place for insects to live, and we all know that insects are the ones killing all the trees, causing more uncontrolled forest fires, and the danger of forest fires as well. It is the forest services fault that all of this is happening.
