Kids love fishing, camping, hiking and just about anything outside -- especially if there's dirt, grass or trout.
Congressman Ron Kind (WI) and Senator Mark Udall (CO) introduced the Healthy Kids Outdoors Act this week. The new legislation will provide incentives to states for developing five-year strategies to get children and families active in the great outdoors.
This legislation aims to help Americans participate in outdoor recreation like camping, hiking, hunting and fishing. The goal is to connect the youth and families with the natural world, improve children's health and support future conservation efforts.
The Healthy Kids Outdoors Act has the support of support of the Outdoor Kids Alliance and will support the goals of the President's America's Great Outdoors initiative and the First Lady's effort to address childhood obesity through Let's Move!
