Labor Day is the unofficial end to summer, but it is not, in fact, the actual end to summer. Summer is not over, yet.
This year, Americans will celebrate Labor Day on September 3, 2012. Though the holiday began as a way to appease organized labor unions, today Americans associate Labor Day with a long weekend devoted to shopping sales events, end-of-summer trips to the beach, and camping. The day is even considered a turning point for seasonal fashion rules--never wear white after Labor Day--but according to the calendar, the season doesn't officially change until September 21, 2012.
So don't pack away your camping gear yet, there are still a few weeks of summer camping left! And the fall is a great time to go camping too.
Either way, in the spirit of Labor Day, I'm planning a camping escape. Where are you camping this Labor Day weekend?
