Have you ever gone camping for a holiday? Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays and since most campers love campground cooking, it's a great holiday to celebrate outdoors. There are plenty of easy Thanksgiving recipes that can be cooked at the campground and on the campfire. Here are a few of our favorite easy Thanksgiving recipes:
Turkey Legs: You don't have to cook a whole turkey to celebrate Thanksgiving and if you are celebrating at the campground, turkey legs on the grill might be an easier and just as delicious solution.
Green Chili Turkey Stuffing: It isn't a complete Thanksgiving meal without stuffing. There are a lot of great stuffing recipes that are easy, but this one-hour to prepare green-chili stuffing is worth the time it takes to cook. It's savory and delicious.
Corn on the Cob: Cooking for a group can be tough, especially at the campground. The best way to cook corn on the cob for a group is in your cooler. Yes, in your ice chest. This popular cooking method is great for the campground because there is no mess; you just need an extra cooler.
Burnt Baked Potato: Mashed potatoes and gravy is a Thanksgiving staple at my family's house. This recipe is easy to make over a campfire and tastes just like mashed potatoes. Don't forget to bring your favorite gravy and lots of butter.
Green Beans Casserole: Green bean casserole with potatoes and onions tastes great after it marinates and heats up on the grill. Or, you can serve this as a cold salad for a first course in the early afternoon.
And, whatever you do, don't forget to pick up a pumpkin pie for dessert!
