Running along the southern edge of Lake Michigan between Gary and Michigan City Indiana are 13 miles of sandy shoreline. This area is called the Indiana Dunes, and there are plenty of recreational opportunities available for visitors.There are campgrounds, beaches for fishing and swimming, trails for biking, hiking and horse back riding, and dunes for hang gliding.
