Michele Boyer's Airstream

Michele is retired living as a full-time RVer, with her husband, Perry, and cat Mr. Mooo. Together they have lived in or traveled the western states extensively, but do go east of the Mississippi every now and then. She spent several years planning the switch from permanent home to full-time travel in their RV and knows what it takes to make the big changeover.

Experience:

Over the years Michele has owned, rented, or borrowed different types of RVs including Class C, Class B, popup tents trailers, and trailers. At present she lives as a full-timer in a 34-foot Airstream, snowbirding in the winter, and wandering at will during the summer. She and her husband spent a few months as commercial truckers after completing a 3-month professional driving course. Much of what they learned is useful to RVers. Both their personal travels and careers have taken them all over the US. Having lived, recreated, traveled, eaten, and gotten to know many areas in several states, she can share info only the locals know.

From Michele Boyer:

Writing and travel have always motivated me. I found ways to write in each job I held, but the travel was usually arranged by my husband or me changing jobs every few years. Otherwise, RV trips in Class C vans, Class B campers and popup tents made travel to out-of-the way places possible for us. We often lived in remote places where work was scarce. So, I learned a lot about working from home. Many of these jobs are ideal for earning money on the road. Once we even decided to try commercial trucking as a way to travel. We took a 3-month driving course and hired on to a major trucking company. While that career was short-lived, we learned a lot that is useful to RVers–things like road safety, out-of-the-way places to visit, tips and more.
