Monica Prelle is a freelance outdoors and travel writer living in California’s Eastern Sierra. On most weekends she can be found mountain biking or fly fishing and camping under the stars.
After more than six months beach camping and traveling in Mexico, Monica was not ready to get back to the so-called real world. It was then she set a goal to become a travel writer (camping included). Since then, Monica's travel stories and outdoor adventures have been published in various newspapers, magazines and online publications. Monica has also worked in tourism and hospitality management for more than a decade.
Monica holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Southern California. She also achieved an Advanced Certificate from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust. While viticulture has nothing to do with camping, wine regions around the globe have some amazing campgrounds.
By Monica Prelle:
Although my camping habit began as an inexpensive way to travel, it eventually unfolded into a passion for experiencing new places and environments. I love the outdoors—the scenery of a rugged landscape, the scents and sounds of nature and the adventures that transpire in the wild. Whether you are first-time camper or a seasoned outdoorsman, it’s time to start planning your next camping excursion!
