Guide Review - Oregon Scientific WR-8000 Weather Radio
I saw this weather radio and just had to have it. It is loaded with features and costs less than $20. Most importantly, it scans all 7 NOAA channels so you won't miss an emergency weather warning. And then it has a standby setting which monitors the channels and broadcasts any incoming emergency before going back to standby mode so as not to drain the batteries.
Additional features include a back-lit digital display which shows the time and displays the temperature. There's also a snooze alarm, a compass, and a freeze alert. A lot of help from a radio that fits in your shirt pocket or clips to your belt.
