Central Florida may not have the sunny beaches, but there is no shortage of fun around Orlando. Theme parks and family attractions abound, and outdoor recreation is plentiful.
Campers and RVers will have no trouble finding campgrounds in the area, as well as several RV/camping resorts, including the ever popular Disney's Fort Wilderness campground and resort. If you like getting out into nature, consider one of the many state parks in the area, like Highlands Hammock, Lake Kissimmee, Rainbow Springs, or Wekiwa Springs. Besides camping, they offer fine opportunities for bird watching, boating, canoeing, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, scuba diving, and swimming. Central Florida offers a variety of family fun and recreation.
If you like to go fishing, then you should be aware of Florida's reputation for some of the best freshwater fishing in the country. So don't leave your fishing pole at home, because many of the campgrounds are situated right on or near a good fishing hole.
