Camping Questions and Answers

Question:

Hi. My better half is very into camping, hiking, fishing: the Outdoors.

continued below...

continued ...

He grew up in the mountains and constantly yearns for it as a retreat from a busy life of work, relationship, and a three-year old.

I grew up a city girl and have always remained such, although I have taken walks through city parks, etc. I want to share this interest of his, especially since he wants his son to begin enjoying it also, but "mommy" has to come too!

All and any advice is appreciated...

Thank you.

Answer:

Camping and excursions into the wilderness offer an enlightenment that only comes from immersing yourself into the outdoor environment and letting go of thoughts of the city. Just relax and pay attention to your senses and a whole new world opens before you. The requirements of camping are simple: know where you are going, wear proper clothing, bring adequate food, have a comfortable shelter, and make it a memorable experience. Now's the time to introduce pre-school kids to the outdoors. The Internet has a wealth of information for parents wanting to take the kids camping. Let me introduce you to a few good ones, and then a list that you can explore on your own.

I hope that helps!

And another reason to go camping might be to better know what it is about the city that we miss.
