Carol - I found this campground on Reserve America, and I tent camped there in July 2004.
Campground Review
This is an excellent campground for car campers. The shower and bathroom facilities are the cleanest that I have ever seen at a campground. We camped at site #44, and we had views of Pikes Peak, the surrounding forests, and a lovely mountain meadow. The park rangers are informative and courteous. There are regular activities for the children at the visitor center. The day hikes are incredible, and I highly recommend the Grouse Mountain Overlook hike, which takes you to the highest point in the park at 9843 feet. It's a bit of an uphill hike, but it's totally worth it to see the panoramic view at the top.
