Kat - I found this campground through the Texas State Parks Web site, and I tent camped there in July 2004.

Campground Review

This campground is a great family place. The campsites are nice and shady. We stayed in 349, which is a water only site. The sites all have their own water, and the site we were in was right on the lake. We saw a lot of deer, turtles, a road runner, a very large centipede, and a very, very large spider. We also saw some armadillo and a lot of pretty birds. We had fun on our raft, and went swimming a lot. On the weekend there was a bluegrass band playing in the amphitheater, which is just over the lake. It was beautiful. The only problem I had with the park was the Devils Waterhole was unpleasant due to litter left behind by some rude campers. And across the lake is a resort that was holding a summer camp and giving sailing lessons, The person giving the lessons was speaking over a megaphone or something, and we could easily hear it on the other side. It was kind of funny. First thing in the morning (7 am) the camp would play music to get the young campers to rise and shine. I don't think they knew it was affecting the campers in the park across the lake. But the campers at Inks Lake were very nice. We will return, but probably in the fall when summer camp isn't in full swing.
