Alfred - I found out about this campground through Internet research and recommendations from friends, and I RV camped there in July 2004.
Campground Review
We've done a lot of camping in our popup and this was the finest destination we've ever had. Our site was in Glacier Basin Campground, which was excellent for us. The facilities were clean, but there were no showers or hot water. The large wooded sites (we had a pull-through), free bus transportation to Bear Lake, and quiet were the best features except for the myriad of stars at night, the total lack of any bugs, and the excellent ice and wood sold at very fair prices. Oh, I can't forget the outstanding ranger-led activities: hiking, evening programs on cougars, bats, or other subjects du-jour. The Rangers made our stay very comfortable. The kids did the Junior Ranger program and received public recognition, which they loved. Drive the "Trail Ridge Drive," if you dare. It's the highest highway in the US and it will make you nervous. The only problem: we stayed for just three days when it should have been a week minimum.
