- Question:
Can you tell me anything about a Coleman sleeping bag with Qualofill (3 lbs of fill) instead of holofill? I need to know what the temperature rating is.
- Answer:
Qualofill is a popular synthetic fiber used in sleeping bags, and is a similar product to holofill, duofill, polarguard, fiberfill and others. I believe they are similar products made by different manufacturers. The temperature rating for 3 lbs. of qualofill should be about +25° to +35°. The sleeping bag you have is for recreation, good for most camping situations, or summer backpacking. This is not an expedition bag and should not be depended on for adequate warmth for extended periods below freezing. Unlike down or cotton, qualofill, and its counterparts, will continue to provide insulation even when wet.
