- Question:
Hi, I'm going to be going through the southeast states, the Virginias, the Carolinas, and Georgia, and I was wondering if you would have any good suggestions on some primitive camping sites around there? I know that's a lot of info, but if you could just provide me with a couple names of places, or some websites for primitive camping, I'd appreciate it. I read your article about the New River, and was wondering where there are other places that aren't RV/family friendly.
- Answer:
My first choice for primitive camping is the national forests, so below is their reservation site which shows locations by state. Remember, you can primitive camp anywhere in the national forests. Also, I've included other resources listing the national forests individually as well as other outdoor destinations for camping in VA, NC, SC, and GA. Remember too that some state parks may offer primitive "hike in" campsites.
