- Question:
We are going to plan a family trip to the Smokies in June. Any suggestions on where to camp and where to go?
- Answer:
I have a page of Tennessee Campground Directories for you to check out. On this page is one link to check out for sure which may have all you need to know, Great Smoky Mountain National Park Campgrounds. You'll find the link in the middle of the page.
These are all public campgrounds run by the NPS and each has similar amenities. They are all in the park too, so at night it's really quiet and rustic after the tourists head back to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. There are RV parks in the area too, which you can find on the other Tennessee directories, if that is your preference. However, I suggest staying in the park campgrounds though, to better experience the Smokies.
I also suggest that you decide on a campground quickly and make reservations ASAP!
