Travelogue - from the Hills to the Beach
Dateline: 09/07/98|
We're finally on our way to Ocracoke Island NC. Rising with the sun, we got an early start, heading south on I-75 towards Lexington, where we pick up I-64 and follow it for the rest of the day. It's a beautiful day, starting out at 70 degrees, but nearing 100 as we approach Richmond later that day.
Today's route takes us first through the bluegrass area of central Kentucky, then east through the mountains of eastern Kentucky and West Virginia. My wife Christi, who goes by the handle crabcakes on the beach, loves her Dodge truck (seen driving here). We reached our destination campground, Americamps in north Richmond, with no problems, but will be rising early again to get on with our trip to Ocracoke. BTW, while nearing Richmond VA a cab passed us with the following message on its trunk hood, and I thought it appropriate for ending today's entry:"Laughter is a sedative without any side effects." Until tomorrow ... David
