The last frontier! Can you imagine the view rewarded to those who climb Mt. McKinley?. Or the variety of wildlife that can be observed in the immense Alaska wilderness? How many of you campers have thought about an Alaska cruise in 1999 to watch whales or view the glaciers? There are many more attractions to be seen in Alaska, more than we could possibly see in a lifetime. Just pick something that interests you and go! But don't take getting there lightly. If you're coming from the lower 48, getting to Alaska alone could take longer than most of us usually have for an entire vacation. So, the first requirement for any Alaska vacation is time, lots of it. Time for getting there, time to explore your interests while you are there, and time to return. Since so much time is spent in getting to and from, plan wisely, plan early, and plan on making the getting to and from Alaska as enjoyable and memorable an experience as the being there. Didn't someone once say, "getting there was half the fun"?
