Springs, Streams, and Lakes

In 1889, more than 50,000 settlers staked claims to the last frontier in the Oklahoma land rush. Today, over a million travelers head to Oklahoma's lakes region each year to visit the natural beauty of the outdoors.

Centered around Arbuckle Lake, Chickasaw NRA was purchased in 1902 by the government from the Chickasaw Nation so as to preserve the many mineral springs in this wooded area.

The area now has a reputation for great fishing, camping and water recreation, as well as hiking, hunting and nature studies.
