Campground Review and Description
Description:
Boy Scout camping trip to the DC area. We were a group of 28, all in tents, 2 trailers, dining canopy, etc. Easily accommodated all of us. Plus very friendly and accommodating staff, great facilities, very well taken care of.
Pros, Cons, Attractions and Additional Comments
Pros: 2 swimming pools, one heated that we used every day while there and they kept them open later than scheduled for us which was excellent! Our group site had not only potable water right there but also electricity to charge the adults cell phones and computers (we still work while away sometimes) and plenty of parking for 6 vehicles and 2 trailers. Close to highways and subway (Metro)
Cons: Close to highway, so highway noise may bother some, but didn't other us.
Attractions: Washington DC, historic battlefields & interesting sights less than 100 miles from the campground. You could spend a month and not see and do everything!
Additional Comments: We will return. The CG is in a great location to launch from for the DC area.
