Campground Review

It's a great campground for the "less-rugged" - like me! Spacious and clean bathrooms, friendly owner, not so many features you feel you're camping in the middle of Disney World, but not so few that you feel like a mountain man, and gloriously close to (literally) WEEKS worth of historical sightseeing (Washington DC, civil war sites, etc.) just a little bitty way off of major get-right-there highways.

RV Camping at Greenville Family CampgroundAugust 20, 2009By DBsPrncz
"We recently stayed at Greenville Family Campground. Overall our stay was nice, but there were a few rough spots during the week. When we arrived, the staff had no record of our reservation, luckily they had a site available. We started our stay on Saturday evening with no power. The transformer at the campground blew as soon as we plugged in. We went about 4 1/2 hours with no power while the power company worked on it. The staff never said a word to us, we had to go and ask what was going on and how long it would be. 100 degree weather with 3 small kids and no power equals NO FUN! Then Monday morning the power company came by to tell us they had to turn off the power for 2-3 hours to fix it again. Once again, nothing from the staff at the campground. On Tuesday evening, it stormed and remained overcast until about noon on Wed. We figured once the clouds passed the pool would open up, however, it never did. The staff never posted a sign or anything, they just never opened the office/store or pool. The pool hours normally are 11am-7pm and only posted inside the store. The restroom/showers were pretty filthy. They also are not well maintained. All week there was no soap or paper towels and only tp in a few stalls in the ladies room. The play ground was great, my little ones loved it and as a plus, it was really close to the laundry! Overall the stay was nice and quiet and gave us the family time we needed, but we opted for showering in our rv all week!"
