Campground Review

Hocking Hills State Park, located 50 miles southeast of Columbus, has long been my favorite campground. Nearly all the sites are enclosed in trees and most are flat enough for tents. The bath houses are newly remodeled with hot showers and heated floors. Some family sites have electric, and water is available near the parking lots. Showers, a dump station, coin-operated laundry, and flush toilets are available from April 1 through October 31. Certain sites accommodate pets. The campground also features a large pool and fishing lake, as well as, a massive lodge and cabins for the less adventurous. Numerous trails weave in and out of the campground connecting you to the half dozen natural attractions that the area is known for. Old Man's Cave, Upper Falls, Lower Falls, Cedar Falls, and Ash Cave comprise the 6-mile gorge trail that can be easily accessed from the campground. In short, this place is not to be missed, especially in Autumn.
