My family and I have been trying to visit all the State Park campgrounds here in Missouri and we were there in July 2000.

Campground Review

For one thing, this campground is right next to the lake, and my kids love that! Also, it is in a private little cove which if you know anything about Lake of the Ozarks, is what you'd want. You can take out your boat there or just fish from your campsite. They have a naturalist there that gives classes for you and your whole family. Horseback riding is pretty reasonable too. There is a cave that you can visit in the State park. Even though the town with all the things to do is five minutes away, you felt like you were in the middle of nowhere and you didn't feel like you were bored. So many things to do you'd have to stay a week to do them all. Oh, the best thing, you can make reservations three months ahead of time! Loved it and I'm going back.
