I found this campground on the Internet and was there last year (2000).
Campground Review
It is very clean and the tent area is separate from the RVs. Tent pads, picnic table, and fire ring are all provided at each site. Firewood is $2 for a good sized bundle. The creek flows past the campsites and you can tube all day for $2. Start from the Great Smokies National Forest and tube back to the campground and back to your tent area. This is a family oriented campground, and the owners are super nice. There's a new general store. The bath house is clean and very well maintained.
I have not found a site to top this one.

"Family camping trip of 2009, we wanted to be by water of some type. Found Deep Creek Tube and Camping Ctr. We had a great experience. Here are just some of the positives, friendy staff, clean restrooms and showers, elevated tent pads, you can tube about a mile and half from start point all way back to camp site. Very close to town of Bryson City, Pisgah National Forrest, lots of hiking, canoeing, rafting, sight seeing, or just sit back in you lounge chair and listen to the creep water run by. Great place for children. Shaded and nestled within the NC mountain valleys. Only draw back is that by the end of summer, the grass around the camp sites was pretty much beaten down. Could stand to plant new grass for summer of 2010 but will deff be back."
