This campground was recommended by a family member, and we were there April 27-29, 2001.

Campground Review

This is a great place to camp. It is extremely clean with showers, laundry and playground facilities in two areas of the campgrounds. Each site is provided with tent pads, grills, fire pits, lamp poles, electricity, water and picnic tables. There are river trails and hiking throughout the park. Maybe the neatest experience for kids and parents alike are the diamond mines there at the park, where visitors for a small fee can mine for diamonds. Even better, what you find you get to keep. There is a gift shop there at the mines with a walk-through history path about the area and diamond mines. Lake Greeson is six miles away for swimming and boating. The park is well patrolled by the rangers, keeping it quiet and peaceful for families. Not the place to go if you want to be rowdy and loud. No alcohol is permitted. We enjoyed our stay very much and I recommend this experience to anyone looking for something different and unique to do.
