We have been going here for years, and we last camped there in September 2000.

Campground Review

Hoyer Campground is two miles outside of Greer, Arizona. It has tall pines, lots of shade, picnic tables and a fire pit at each site. I think there is a total of 100 sites. There are so many trees it's hard to tell it's to big. Each site has water and bathrooms close by. There are very nice camp hosts who are very helpful and have provided electricity for a breathing machine in an emergency. The loops are paved as are the pull-ins. There is an amphitheater where forest rangers have programs every night for the kids. Three lakes are within walking distant and a stream with beaver dams. Also a one mile hiking/walking trail almost any one can handle. We have seen deer, elk, antelope, skunks, squirrels and bear. The elevation is about 9000 feet, just perfect when you drive up from the desert.
