Walt - A friend referred me to this campground, and I camped there in June 2001.

Campground Review

This is a WPA campground built in the 1930's in the redwoods. It's one mile south of Meyer's Flat on the Avenue of the Giants. It's mostly tent sites with good separation, nice flat pitches, and lots of shade. Hot water showers and flush toilets are included and there's great swimming or floating in the Eel River just across the road. I haven't found better site separation and privacy outside of the Pacific Northwest rain forests.
