Renee - On our first visit to the Smokies in 1992, my husband and I stayed at a cabin. When we arrived, we knew we'd be back. We love camping, so we looked around for a place we'd like to stay on our next visit. We found three very nice campgrounds and have stayed at each one on other visits. Tremont Hills was the best, and we've stayed there every trip since, usually twice a year in the spring and in the fall. We last camped there in October 2001.
Campground Review
This campground is very close to the park and Cades Cove. Townsend is a really nice place. The folks that work at the campground are very friendly. The grounds are well kept and the bathrooms are very clean. We stayed in one of the log cabins on our last visit in October 2001. The electricity went out one morning while I was getting out of the shower. They were there in a jiffy and corrected the problem. We had reservations for three nights and decided to stay one more. The cabin we were in was booked for the next night, but the managers let us stay and assigned another cabin to the next guests. I thought it was very nice of them to do this. Tremont Hills is our favorite campground.
