Cheryl - I found out about this campground from my dad, and I camp there every year.

Campground Review

I think this is a great campground because there are so many things to see and do! We saw the Au Sable Point Lighthouse that we toured after taking a beautiful walk (or bike ride) out to the point. There are many beautiful trails which take you from the ridge trail to the island trail. Fishing is great on the inland lake and river, and we saw the sun set on Lake Michigan. Both are in the campground! We saw wildlife as we walked along one of the beautiful trails. We looked down from a ridge and saw a mother deer and her fawn lying in a sun spot way down in the valley. There is a beautiful old beach house right on the shore of Lake Michigan. There's a wonderful place to sit up on the balcony that surrounds the beach house and watch the sunset and chat with other campers or watch the children playing along the beach getting the last of the day spent running from the waves and skipping stones into the water. This spot has been our family's favorite for over 20 years and it just keeps getting better!
