Cynthia - This campground is close to my home, and I camped there in May 2002.
Campground Review
Vogel State Park is the oldest state park in Georgia. It has a beautiful lake for swimming or fishing and has canoes and paddleboats for rent. There are cabins and campsites ranging from primitive to water/electric hook-ups. The bathrooms are clean with hot showers. There are several streams running through the park, which merge to make a great trout fishing stream. There are two playgrounds, volleyball, miniature golf, and lots of room for the children to ride bicycles and explore. The rangers were extremely helpful and courteous. Even though we visited during a rainy weekend, we had a fantastic time.
