jkd518 - I was looking for a new place to camp, asked around, and found this campground. I camped there in June 2002.
Campground Review
This is a national forest campground, run mostly by volunteers, who have a lot of knowledge of the park and the area. There are good day activities for the kids, including Jr. Ranger classes, which my kids loved. It's a very clean campground and has lots of beautiful campsites. There are also hiking trails, swimming, and bike trails. It's close to many sights in Asheville: the Biltmore Estate, Chimney Rock, and Bat Cave. Be sure to visit the Farmers Market. Part of the charm of this area is the local growers and the lovely valleys and mountains.
