Karen - I went to this campground when I was a child and most recently in August 2002.
Campground Review
If you ever want to see God's country, this is the place. The campground is nestled amidst limestone walls on the way into the Texas mountains. The view is breathtaking to say the very least. The sites are very large and the lake is spectacular. The campground offers all the state park amenities with the exception of horseback riding. They have paddle boats, water bikes, canoes, etc.
I have never seen so many deer at a campground. We stayed at site 69, which was wonderful and large with a small beach area 10 feet from our picnic table. Upon exploring, we found more gorgeous sites on a part of the lake called the Devil's Waterhole (the sites are in the 250's), which are very shaded. This is by far our "new" favorite park in Texas.
