Mike - I first learned of this campground when I went with my parents in 1967. I camped there in July 2002.
Campground Review
If hookups and pools are important to your stay, this isn't the place for you. If you want peace and quiet, a huge site to yourself, and a chance to enjoy the natural beauty of the Carolina coast, then you've got to try Cape Point, or any of the other campgrounds on Cape Hatteras National Seashore. The facilities are basic, but clean and well maintained. We see the lack of pools, game rooms, and snack bars as an opportunity to enjoy our children free of distractions. Some of the best fishing is at "The Point." Some excellent beaches, as well as the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, are very close. I have been coming here since 1967, and I still look forward to my trips to Hatteras.
