Be the first to Fitz - I heard about Paynes Prairie from some folks who had camped there in the past, and I also read about it in a book for tent campers. We camped there in November 2002.
Campground Review
Paynes Prairie was nice. The campsites were not right on top of each other, and the facilities were clean. It has very nice nature trails and an interesting visitors center. Nearby Micanopy is a neat little village with lots of history and antique stores.
