Janice - I was born in Gadsden Alabama about 40 miles from Guntersville, Alabama. My husband was born and raised in Guntersville. I have lived here now for 24 years, and I have never gotten tired of this town or Lake Guntersville State Park. Even after 24 years, I still stand in awe of its beauty.
Campground Review
Lake Guntersville State Park is open year round. The cabins at the park are awesome with a wonderful fireplace, kitchen, family room, and separate sleeping quarters. Indoors or out one cannot escape the park's beautiful scenery, which is in every direction. The cabins have glass doors, which lead to the back balcony. When rising of the morning, one can see the sun rising, and also setting in the evening, from indoors or out. With such peaceful serenity for the busy people who want to get away for the purpose of relaxing, then this is the place. The park also has RV hookups, which are right at Guntersville Lake. There are plenty of wooded areas for hiking, and the park has a playground, basketball and tennis courts, wildlife center, a store, and so much more. If you want some down home southern cooking, the park also has a restaurant. There is much more about our state park I could share, but it would be best to experience it for yourself. No I do not work at the state park, nor do I work for the county or state. I am just a housewife who enjoys and loves my town, and I want to share its beauty.
