Barb - I learned about this campground when I was a kid, and I camped there in July 2002.

Campground Review

This campground is on Crystal Lake, a round, deep, spring-fed glacial lake. It has a sand rim around the entire lake. You can swim anywhere on the lake, and no motors are allowed. It is quiet and peaceful, and at times you can swim with the loons. Musky Lake is Crystal's large sister lake where boats with motors and fishing are allowed. There is no electricity in the campground, or loud generators are not allowed. You have to make your own fun with your kids, and teach them to live without their computers, TV, and video games. The State Forest employees conduct evening programs and also educational walks during the day.

Crystal Lake and Muskie LakeCampgrounds are located in the central portion of Northern Highlands-American Legion State Forest.
