Pappy - This campground was recommended by some friends, and since then I have camped there several times, most recently in April 2003.

Campground Review

This campground is located on a great small-mouth bass lake, if you enjoy fishing. The campground has a pool for campers at no extra charge, they have activities for children like crafts or swimming lessons, hiking and cave exploring, boat rentals, lodge, golf course opening 6-1-03, and on weekends the campground has some type of entertainment like singers, bands, or wildlife shows. There is also a lot of wildlife throughout the park, like deer, turkey, and eagles. They also have a separate area for campers with horses, and there are several horse trails in the park. All campsites have electric and water, fire-ring with grill, picnic table, and paved sites. There are also nice, clean bathrooms and showers, laundry facilities, dump station, and you can pick from sunny to shaded sites. They also have a marina and a wide 6-8 car-width boat ramp. This is also the boat ramp used by the Kentucky State Police going to Trooper Island, which makes for a very trouble free campground.
