Veronica - I found this campground on the Hearst Castle Web site, and I camped there in April 2003.

Campground Review

This campground is extremely clean and well laid out. Wood is conveniently sold on site. The restrooms are large private rooms with a sink and a toilet (not stalls), where you can change or groom in privacy. The showers are clean and large with a changing area and plenty of hooks. It was very easy to take a shower for just a quarter. Water faucets are located between every two sites, and there are plenty of restrooms and showers and places to dump trash and recyclables. The nature trails are beautiful and easy to follow with clearly marked paths and informative signs throughout. They even have wooden bridges and paths on the trails. The ocean is accessible from the campground (no roads to cross), and you fall asleep to the sound of the surf. There was a picnic table and a round fire pit with a half grill at every site. The scenery was breathtaking, and there was plenty of wildlife to see. I would definitely camp there again.
