Cynthia - I found out about this campground from friends who had stayed there. I requested a vacation package from the state park Web site for more information. I RV camped there in June 2003.
Campground Review
This campground is right on the White River. There are different campsites to choose from including right next to the river or more secluded in the trees. The tent camping has a separate area. There is also rent an RV and rent a tent for those who enjoy camping but do not have the equipment. This river comes out of Bull Shoals Lake, which is about 250 feet deep. It stays between 48-52 degrees. Because of this coldness, it has fog over it from early evening until mid-morning. It is a very cool, beautiful place to be when it is very hot. This is one of the best rivers for trout fishing in the US. My husband caught some really nice trout! Don't forget your waders! They had interpretive programs, which were very interesting and informative. The kids had plenty of room to ride their bikes. The bathrooms were being updated while we were there, and seem to be very nice. There is a small store for fishing supplies on the river in the state park.
