Eunice - We visit San Augustine County, Texas quite often. We have camped and had a picnic at this park several times. We RV camped there in June 2003.

Campground Review

Mission Dolores Campground is owned and maintained by the city of San Augustine. The sites are spacious, and the bathroom is nice. San Augustine, the oldest Anglo-Saxon town in Texas, had its beginning in 1716 when a mission was established in the area. A visitors center with exhibits about the mission is across the road from the campground. San Augustine is known as "The Cradle of Texas." Sites to see include historical statues, churches, homes, and historical markers. Local information is available at the local chamber office. Keep in mind that there is no pool or playground at the campground.
