Ale - I found out about this campground from friends, and I RV camped there in July 2003.
Campground Review
We just returned home after staying at Lakewood for a total of seven nights. It was well worth the 14-hour ride from our home in Connecticut. We had a great campsite a block away from both the beach and the pool, and we were still under the trees. We enjoyed the convenience of the hookups, the two pools, the beach, the playground, the camp store, and even the laundry room. Myrtle Beach is full of family activities that are just a short distance from Lakewood. I would have to say that the campground is so big that the renting of golf carts is necessary for those who camp away from the beach. You need to be very careful because really young teenagers are the ones driving and racing them without much adult supervision.
