delburro - I found out about this campground in the Trailer Life Guide, and I RV camped there in July 2003.

Campground Review

We have found Washington State Parks to be wonderful and well maintained. This one in particular is nice due to its access to Puget Sound and the wonderful hiking trails. It is located approximately six miles south of Bellingham and offers wonderful camping in a forest setting. It does have something that campers need be aware of - train tracks, specifically freight trains that come through early in the morning and early in the evening. Given that our son loves trains this was an added bonus, but others might not feel the same. Although it was not obnoxious, and we've certainly stayed at RV parks near interstates that were much worse. Wonderful trails from the park lead down to a gravel beach, as well as trails that take you along some of the cliffs that give you wonderful views of the sound and the San Juan Islands.
