Christina - I found out about this campground on the state park Web site, and I RV camped there in May 2003.

Campground Review

I think this is a great campground because it has huge sites! Maumee Bay State Park campground has the largest sites of any campground I have ever been to - and they are grassy even in October. All Sites have electric and a paved pad for parking your car or RV. There is an area to fill water tanks at the entrance to the campground. The sites are divided by tall grasses, and in summer and fall you can't see the campers beside you. If camping with a group, you can get from site to site via a path behind each site - no need to walk on the street. This is a fairly new campground, so the trees are still small, though most sites have at least a couple of trees large enough to offer some shade for an after lunch nap. Even when the campground is completely full, there is no feeling of being crowded and noise was minimal. So, if you're looking for a quiet campground, with lots of room, clean facilities, lots of room for the kids to play on your site, as well as a lot of things to do in the park, Maumee Bay is a great choice.

Ticks beware, Member tammylickert

I stayed there June 27 to July 1 2012 . After setting up camp my husband came into the camper with ticks walking on him less than a hour being out side JUST setting camp up I picked 9 ticks off him and my dog OMG . It spoiled my weekend . Talked to a worker in the store and I was told its just dog ticks we aren't worried about them. Everytime we went out of the camper we got ticks on us and the dog . I will NEVER stay here again. If they don't start caring about them people will not come back. There infested and thats to bad . Maybe winter time it will be better.
