Christina - I found out about this campground on the state park Web site, and I RV camped there in May 2003.
Campground Review
I think this is a great campground because it has huge sites! Maumee Bay State Park campground has the largest sites of any campground I have ever been to - and they are grassy even in October. All Sites have electric and a paved pad for parking your car or RV. There is an area to fill water tanks at the entrance to the campground. The sites are divided by tall grasses, and in summer and fall you can't see the campers beside you. If camping with a group, you can get from site to site via a path behind each site - no need to walk on the street. This is a fairly new campground, so the trees are still small, though most sites have at least a couple of trees large enough to offer some shade for an after lunch nap. Even when the campground is completely full, there is no feeling of being crowded and noise was minimal. So, if you're looking for a quiet campground, with lots of room, clean facilities, lots of room for the kids to play on your site, as well as a lot of things to do in the park, Maumee Bay is a great choice.
